9-11-2011 Dave Hulme Appointed to North Ogden City Council
Dave Hulme
On October 11th the North Ogden City council by a 4-to-1 vote appointed Dave Hulme to serve as a North Ogden City councilman. The city councilman voting against Dave’s appointment says he voted “no” because he liked the job he is doing in his current position and he can’t serve in both positions at once. Dave was currently serving as the chairman of the North Ogden City planning commission.

The manual for the class will be Scott's book, "To Preserve the Nation".

We launched our military response in Afghanistan in early October 2001. We were told that the effort was to bring to justice the perpetrators of the dastardly deeds of 11 September 2001. We were told that Al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden (U.S. ally 1979-1989) were responsible and were holed up in the U.S. taxpayer-dollar-created Tora Bora complex, from which we needed to root them out. Ten years later we are still engaged in Afghanistan, but the mission has changed numerous tim es, without resulting in any concrete solution.

In regards to the power granted by the United States Constitution to the federal government to hold and control land within this Nation, Article I Section 8, clause 17 of the United States Constitution states: “Congress shall have power to...To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square), as may, by Cession of particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings...”

THE FEDERAL RESERVE
As politicians wring their hands in impotent despair about the flailing United States economy, media pundits and socialist of every ilk cry out
for more government intervention and meddling in the lives of every American.
More government intervention in the economy is the last thing this nation needs at this time!
Government intervention has already brought this nation to its knees. Further government intervention could quite possibly administer
the fatal coup de grace to our gasping economic system.

Part Seven of a Seven Part Series
This is the final part of a seven part series of articles which were intended to briefly outline seven baseline principles which are critical to the preservation of liberty and proper government in this nation. Following is a recap these essential points of our liberty:

20-7-2011 Americanist Principles    of Proper Government

by
Scott N. Bradley

Part Six of a Seven Part Series
The first five parts of this seven part series touched upon the fact that the Founding Fathers of this nation recognized that our rights come from God, that it is the purpose of government to preserve those rights, that the founders considered the United States Constitution to be a written, binding contract so sacred that all who hold office are required to take an oath to uphold, that the scope of the national government was limited to the specific powers enumerated in the United States Constitution (and no more), that the Founding Fathers were careful to create checks and balances between all the different departments of the national government, and that it is essential that there be a clear separation of powers (divided powers) between the different elements of the government if liberty is to be maintained.

The seventh broad-brush point is that Delegated Powers may not be re-delegated once granted by the people through the constitutional process.

Part Five of a Seven Part Series
The first four parts of this seven part series touched upon the fact that the Founding Fathers of this nation recognized that our rights come from God, that it is the purpose of government to preserve those rights, that the founders considered the United States Constitution to be a written, binding contract so sacred that all who hold office are required to take an oath to uphold, that the scope of the national government was limited to the specific powers enumerated in the United States Constitution (and no more), and that the Founding Fathers were careful to create checks and balances between all the different departments of the national government.

The sixth broad-brush point is Separation of Powers (divided powers)

Part Four of a Seven Part Series
The first three parts of this seven part series touched upon the fact that the Founding Fathers of this nation recognized that our rights come from God, that it is the purpose of government to preserve those rights, that the founders considered the United States Constitution to be a written, binding contract so sacred that all who hold office are required to take an oath to uphold, and that the scope of the national government was limited to the specific powers enumerated in the United States Constitution , and no more.

The fifth broad-brush point is that the Founding Fathers were careful to create Checks and Balances between all the different departments of the national government—Powers are distributed, powers are broken up; and in some instances shared. But in no instance does the Constitution allow encroachment between the departments of the national government which would allow power to grow into tyranny.

Part Three of a Seven Part Series
The first two parts of this seven part series touched upon the fact that the Founding Fathers of this nation recognized that our rights come from God, that it is the purpose of government to preserve those rights, and that the founders considered the United States Constitution to be a written, binding contract so sacred that all who hold office are required to take an oath to uphold.

The fourth broad-brush point has to do with Enumerated Powers—meaning the powers granted to the national government in the United States Constitution are spelled out and listed: The national government has no power to do what is not specifically listed and granted in the Constitution.

Part Two of a Seven Part Series
The first part of this seven part series touched upon the fact that the Founding Fathers of this nation recognized that
our rights come from God, and that it is the purpose of government to preserve those rights.

The third broad-brush point in this discussion of essential base-line principles of liberty and proper government has to do with the value of a Written Constitution, which the founders considered a written binding contract,
and which they required ALL office holders to take a sacred oath to uphold

15-6-2011 Americanist Principles    of Proper Government

by
Scott N. Bradley

Part One of a Seven Part Series
In order to make appropriate decisions regarding government and governance, proper principle must be understood and applied. Principle must begin to take precedence over party and popularity if nations, states, and communities are to begin again to enjoy the fruits of proper government!

Proper principle, and proper government, can be found within the scope and bounds defined within the United States Constitution! It is sound and good! We must use all of the influence we can rightfully bring to bear to make popular that which is sound and good, and unpopular that which is unsound.

Introductory Column
In 1787, The United States of America stood at a crossroads. Although victorious at war, the nation languished in crisis. Inflation was rampant, economic development was stifled, public debt was at an all-time high, and growing. The threat of enemy action within the nation’s borders loomed. Political motivation clouded the judgment of the nation’s leadership—many of the nation’s foremost leaders jockeyed for prominence and power. The nation’s leaders were bogged down and ineffective. D ebates raged which seemed to perpetually elude solution. Ineffective is the mildest term that could be applied to the tone set by Congress. Foreign powers examined every action the nation took, scheming to take advantage of every perceived weakness and flaw. The citizens of the nation were deeply divided on many critical issues. The nation was polarized by divisive opinions which split the nation’s personality into almost innumerable fragments. The future of the nation looked dire, indeed!
